Student Policies

A number of policies apply to students at Georgetown University and govern living, learning, appropriate conduct and other aspects of the student experience.  All students are subject to certain University policies, while other policies are specific to students in particular schools or programs.  The pages accessible through the tabs on the left side of this page provide information and links to most of the important policies for students, organized in the following categories:

Generally Applicable Student Policies - policies that apply generally to students at Georgetown.

Main Campus Student Policies - policies that apply to students in all undergraduate programs and to students in graduate programs on the Main Campus. [Including students in the College of Arts and Sciences, the School of Nursing and Health Studies (undergraduates), the Walsh School of Foreign Service, the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences, the McCourt School of Public Policy, the McDonough School of Business, and the School of Continuing Studies.]

Medical Center Student Policies - policies that apply to students in the School of Medicine, the graduate programs in the School of Nursing and Health Studies, and to students working in biomedical research at the Medical Center.

Law Center Student Policies – policies that apply to Georgetown Law students in the J.D. and L.L.M programs.

Students should be certain to check with the Deans of their respective programs to identify additional policies that may apply.
